Turkey Meatball Subs

  1. Preheat oven to 425 F.
  2. In a large bowl mix the turkey with the bread crumbs, basil, oregano, Parmesan, egg, olive oil, steak spice, parsley, roasted red pepper and garlic powder.
  3. Form the mixture into 1-1/2 meatballs and place on a greased cookie sheet then press down to flatten slightly.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes.
  5. Preheat your broiler.
  6. Meanwhile slice buns in half and remove a small amount of the insides of the lower half of the bun so the meatballs will rest easily in the bun and not roll out.
  7. Put the buns onto a baking tray and broil to lightly toast.
  8. Pour the tomato sauce into a medium saucepan over medium heat and when the meatballs are done remove them from the oven and place them into the sauce.
  9. Mix to coat the meatballs in the sauce and cook until sauce is heated through.
  10. Add 3 meatballs to the bottom half of each bun with some of the tomato sauce.
  11. Divide the provolone among the subs.
  12. Place them back on a baking sheet and broil again until cheese is melted and lightly browned.
