Peppermint Stick Brownies Recipe

  1. In a large saucepan combine the sugar, butter and cocoa pwdr.
  2. Cook and stir till butter is melted.
  3. Remove from heat.
  4. Add in Large eggs and vanilla to saucepan.
  5. Using a wooden spoon, lightly beat just till combined.
  6. Add in flour, baking pwdr and soda.
  7. Beat till well combined.
  8. Stir in lowfat milk; mix well.
  9. Stir in chocolate pcs and nuts.
  10. Spread batter into a greased 15x10x1 pan.
  11. Bake in a 350 degree oven 20 to 25 min or possibly till toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
  12. Cold in pan on a wire rack.
  13. For frosting: In a saucepan heat chocolate and butter over low heat just till melted, stirring occasionally.
  14. Remove from heat.
  15. Stir in powdered sugar and vanilla.
  16. Stir in 2 to 4 Tbsp.
  17. warm water to make frosting of soft-spread consistency.
  18. Frost brownies and sprinkle with crushed peppermint candies.
  19. Cut into bars.
  20. 48 servings.
