Uncle Herman's Soda Cookies Recipe

• 2 c. sugar
• 2 Large eggs
• 1 c. lard
• 1 c. buttermilk
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
• 1/2 teaspoon baking pwdr
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 4 to 6 c. flour

1. Cream sugar, Large eggs, lard.
2. Sift baking soda, baking pwdr and salt with 4 c. flour.
3. Mix together to a soft dough adding more flour as needed.
4. Roll out dough to 1/8 inch thick and cut with cookie cutters sprinkle with sugar.
5. Bake at 300 degrees until done.
6. This is a not too rich cookie which holds the shape it's cut in!
