Cantaloupe Sorbet Recipe

  1. Cut the ripe cantaloupe fresh into chunks and puree them in a food processor to measure about 3 c.. Stir in the syrup and lemon juice.
  2. Taste carefully.
  3. If the melon is not fully ripe, you may want to add in a little more syrup.
  4. Cover and freeze the fruit puree in ice cube trays we needed 2.5 trays worth.
  5. When frzn, place several cubes at a time into a food processor and puree till smooth.
  6. Process as many cubes as you want and enjoy!
  7. One tray's worth of cubes was about 2 servings.
  8. Simple Syrup: Put the water and sugar in a pot and bring to a boil.
  9. Lower the heat, cover and cook at a gentle boil for 4 to 5 min.
  10. Make sure the sugar is completely dissolved.
  11. Add in the lemon juice and let cold.
  12. Use in above recipe.
  13. Makes about 1 c..
