Gingerbread Bears

  1. Preheat the oven to 170 Celsius.

  3. Melt the sugar, butter and golden syrup in a saucepan.
  4. 2.
  5. Sieve all the dry ingredients together, then add your vanilla essence.
  6. 3.
  7. Slowly add the melted sugar, butter and syrup, then stir with a wooden spoon.
  8. 4.
  9. Knead the mix for 3-4 minutes.
  10. 5.
  11. Roll out the dough to about 5-7mm thickness, then use your choice of cutter to cut 'em out.
  12. 6.
  13. Place them in the oven on baking trays lined with greaseproof paper for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
  14. 7.
  15. Remove from the oven and allow to cool.
  16. 8.
  17. Ice to your taste!
