Classic Gingersnaps
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup brown sugar, light
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 each eggs
- 2 cups flour, all-purpose
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon ginger ground
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 pinch cloves, ground
- 1/2 cup sugar plus extra for rolling
- Preheat oven to 350F (180C).
- Cream butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add molasses and egg.
- Sift dry ingredients then add to butter mixture.
- Roll dough into balls and roll in sugar.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes until cracked.
