Green Tea Swirl Pound Cake

  1. Leave the butter and egg out at room temperature.
  2. Mix the ingredients well.
  3. Sift together the flour and baking powder.
  4. Line a loaf tin with baking paper.
  5. Preheat the oven to 355F/180C.
  6. Combine the eggs and sugar in a bowl and whisk well.
  7. Stir in the vanilla essence.
  8. Put softened butter in another bowl and whisk until it has a mayonnaise-like consistency.
  9. Add the sifted flour.
  10. You will have a crumbly texture first, but continue to whisk.
  11. Whisk until creamy.
  12. Add the mixture from Step 3 to the bowl in 3-4 batches.
  13. Continue to whisk throughout.
  14. Whisk until you have a creamy batter with soft consistency.
  15. Divide the batter into two bowls.
  16. Add the into one of the bowls and mix well.
  17. You will have 2 types of batter.
  18. Put the two types of batter alternatively in the prepared loaf tin.
  19. Quickly stir with a spoon.
  20. Bake in the oven heated to 355F/180C for about 40 minutes.
  21. After 15 minutes of baking, take out the tin and make a slit in the middle lengthwise.
  22. By making a slit in the middle, you will have a pretty-looking cake like this.
