Cranberry Vanilla Chip Bars

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease and flour 8-inch square baking pan.
  3. Set aside.
  4. Combine sugar, butter, brown sugar, egg and vanilla in bowl.
  5. Beat at medium speed, scraping bowl often, until well mixed.
  6. Add flour, baking powder and salt; beat at low speed until well mixed.
  7. Stir in cranberries, 1/2 cup white baking chips and pecans.
  8. Spread batter into prepared pan.
  9. Bake 25-30 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  10. Cool completely.
  11. Melt 1/4 cup white baking chips and shortening in 1-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth.
  12. Drizzle over cooled bars.
  13. Cut into bars.
