Green Bean & Onion Salad Recipe

  1. Cook the green beans according to package directions and drain.
  2. Cover tightly and chill.
  3. Sprinkle the onion with the sugar, cover tightly and chill.
  4. In a small jar, shake together the oil, vinegar, basil, salt, mustard and cayenne; set aside.
  5. At serving time, turn the beans and onions into a salad bowl; add in the oil-vinegar mix and toss well.
  6. Add in the bacon and cheese and toss again.
  7. Serve at once.
  8. Makes 8 servings.
