Frenchy Franks

  1. Heat gas or charcoal grill.
  2. In small skillet, cook onions over medium high heat 3 to 4 minutes or until slightly browned, stirring occasionally.
  3. Set aside.
  4. Cut franks in half lengthwise, cutting almost but not completely through.
  5. Open franks and place cut sides down on grill.
  6. Cover grill; cook over medium heat 5 to 10 minutes or until thoroughly heated, turning once.
  7. To toast buns, place cut sides down on grill during last 1 to 2 minutes of cooking time.
  8. To serve, spread cut sides of each bun with about 1/2 tablespoon relish.
  9. Place frank in each bun.
  10. Top with salad dressing and onions.
  11. Tip: Substituting fat free franks for regular franks will reduce the fat by about 13 grams per serving.
  12. To make Frenchy Smoked Sausages, use smoked sausage links in place of the beef franks.
