My Grandmother's Mashed Sweet Potato with Sweet Chestnuts
- 500 grams Sweet potatoes
- 250 grams Candied chestnuts (Weight of chestnuts)
- 3/4 cup Candied chestnut syrup
- 1 dash Salt
- Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into 1.5 cm semi-circular shapes.
- Then put them in water.
- Steam the sweet potatoes until soft.
- When you can easily pierce them with a skewer, they're done.
- Mash the steamed potatoes with a masher, then strain until smooth.
- Put the strained sweet potato in a pan.
- Turn on the heat, add the salt and the candied chestnut syrup, and stir over low heat for about 5 minutes.
- Turn off the heat, add in the candied chestnuts, and mix well.
- Once it has chilled, it's ready.
