My Grandmother's Mashed Sweet Potato with Sweet Chestnuts

  1. Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into 1.5 cm semi-circular shapes.
  2. Then put them in water.
  3. Steam the sweet potatoes until soft.
  4. When you can easily pierce them with a skewer, they're done.
  5. Mash the steamed potatoes with a masher, then strain until smooth.
  6. Put the strained sweet potato in a pan.
  7. Turn on the heat, add the salt and the candied chestnut syrup, and stir over low heat for about 5 minutes.
  8. Turn off the heat, add in the candied chestnuts, and mix well.
  9. Once it has chilled, it's ready.
