Pork Steak And Apple Kraut Recipe
- 4 pork shoulder steaks, cut 1/2" thick
- 2 tbsp. shortening
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1 tbsp. prepared mustard
- 1 tbsp. prepared horseradish
- 1 (29 ounce.) can sauerkraut, liquid removed
- 2 med. apples, minced
- 1/2 c. minced onion
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds
- Brown steaks in shortening.
- Pour off drippings.
- Season steaks with salt and pepper.
- Combine mustard and horseradish and spread over steaks.
- Combine kraut, apples, onion and caraway seeds.
- Place in a 2 qt baking dish.
- Arrange steaks on top of mix.
- Cover tightly and bake at 350 degrees for 30 min, uncover and bake additional 30 min.
