Bratwurst Split Pea Stew Recipe
- 1 (11 1/4 ounce.) can condensed split pea soup
- 1 1/4 c. water
- 1 (10 ounce.) pkg. frzn corn
- 1 (10 ounce.) pkg. frzn peas and carrots
- 1 1/2 c. minced, peeled potatoes (2 med.)
- 1 c. minced tomato (1 med.)
- 1/2 c. minced celery
- 1/4 c. minced green pepper
- 1/2 pound smoked bratwurst links, thinly sliced
- 1 1/2 teaspoon dry dill weed
- 1 1/2 teaspoon onion pwdr
- 1 1/2 teaspoon chili pwdr
- In a large kettle or possibly Dutch oven, combine all ingredients.
- Cover and cook over medium to low heat till vegetables are thawed and mix boils, about 10 min.
- Simmer, covered, for 25 to 30 min or possibly till vegetables are tender.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
- CROCKERY COOKER METHOD: In a 3 1/2 qt electric slow crockery cooker, combine all ingredients.
- Stir to mix well.
- Cover and cook on low setting for 4 to 8 hrs or possibly till vegetables are tender.
