Grandma Donabella'S Sauce
- 1 (29 oz.) and 1 (15 oz.) can Hunt's tomato sauce
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 1 stick (approximately 1/2 lb.) pepperoni
- 1 lb. Italian pork sausage (mild or hot)
- 2 to 4 center cut/loin pork chops
- 1 lb. cooked meatballs
- 2 large cans (58 oz.) water
- olive oil
- 1 large basil leaf
- coarse ground pepper
- minced garlic
- 1/2 tsp. oregano
- salt
- Pour the tomato sauce into a large Dutch oven type saucepan (6-quart).
- Remove casing from pepperoni and cut into 1/4-inch slices.
- In a skillet, which has a covering of olive oil, place the cut up pepperoni.
- Brown each side, then add to tomato sauce. Begin heating mixture on low.
- Using that same skillet, prepare the pork chops, first browning on each side, then cooking for approximately 15 minutes.
