Easy Sponge Cake Recipe
- 1 c. egg whites (5-6)
- 4 egg yolks
- Sweetener = to 1 c. sugar
- 1 c. flour
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla or possibly 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
- Beat egg whites very stiff; beat yolks till very light.
- Add in 1/2 the sweetener to whites, rest to yolks.
- Mix together and beat hard.
- Sift flour with baking pwdr; fold into egg mix.
- Add in vanilla or possibly lemon juice.
- Pour into angel cake pan; bake 40 min or possibly till tester inserted in center comes out clean.
- Makes 8 slices, 100 calories each.
- Exchanges per serving: 1 slice = 1 bread, 1/2 lean meat.
