Ham, Havarti & Asparagus Panini
- 3 qt. Vidalia onions, thinly sliced Safeway 1 lb For $1.49 thru 02/09
- - fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
- 2 cups Pure Kraft Refrigerated Asiago Caesar Dressing, divided
- 48 slices multi-grain bread slices
- 48 slices Kraft Havarti Slices
- - deli ham, thinly sliced
- Heat nonstick skillet sprayed with cooking spray on low heat.
- Add onions; cook until golden brown and reduced by half with jam-like consistency, stirring occasionally.
- Cool.
- Toss asparagus with 125 mL (1/2 cup) of the dressing (or with 5 mL 1 tsp.
- of the dressing for trial recipe).
- Grill until crisp-tender.
- For each serving: Spread each of 2 bread slices with 7 mL (1-1/2 tsp.)
- of the remaining dressing.
- Cover 1 bread slice with 1 cheese slice, 35 g ham, 30 g each onions and asparagus, second cheese slice and remaining bread slice.
- Grill in preheated panini grill sprayed with cooking spray 4 min.
- or until golden brown.
- Cut diagonally in half to serve.
