Butter Icing
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) flour
- 1 cup (225 ml) milk
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) butter
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) Crisco
- 1 cup (225 ml) sugar
- 2 tsp (10 ml). vanilla
- Blend flour and milk.
- Cook together until thick.
- Let stand to cool.
- Cream butter and Crisco, then add sugar and vanilla.
- Add flour mixture.
- Beat until icing is white.
