Herbed Cheese Loaf Recipe
- 1 1/2 c. self-rising flour
- 1 teaspoon mustard pwdr
- 1 teaspoon snipped fresh chives
- 1 tbsp. minced parsley
- 3 ounce. mature cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 egg, beaten
- 2/3 c. water
- 2 tbsp. butter, melted
- Onion (optional)
- Grease a 1 lb.
- loaf tin.
- Sift the flour, salt and mustard into a bowl and stir in the herbs and cheese.
- Add in the egg, water and melted butter and stir till well blended with a wooden spoon.
- Spoon into the loaf tin and bake at 375 degrees for 45 min.
- Turn out and cold on a wire rack for about 1 hour.
- Serve sliced and buttered while hot.
- 1 loaf.
