Beef With Broccoli
- 1 lb. steak, cut in 1/4 inch slices (2 inches long)
- 1/4 c. soy sauce
- 1 Tbsp. cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp. dry sherry
- 1 tsp. sugar
- 1/4 tsp. m.s.g. (optional)
- 4 Tbsp. oil
- 1/2 bunch broccoli
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 c. sliced onion or 1 slice ginger root
- Mix together first 6 ingredients and set aside.
- Cut broccoli in florets about 2 inches long.
- Peel stalk and slice in 2 inch lengths less than 1/2 inch thick.
- Put 2 tablespoons oil in hot skillet or wok over high heat.
- Add broccoli and stir-fry until broccoli is dark green, not over 2 minutes.
- Remove and add 2 tablespoons oil to skillet.
- Add onions and beef; stir-fry 2 minutes.
- Add broccoli to skillet and stir-fry to warm broccoli. Serve with rice.
- Makes 2 to 3 servings.
