Our Family Recipe for Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. Mix the margarine until creamy.
  2. (If it's too hard, microwave for about 30 seconds or so.)
  3. Add sugar and mix well.
  4. Gradually add the egg in about 4 portions, mixing well after each addition so the dough comes together (until the dough feels heavy.)
  5. Combine the ingredients, sift, and add to the bowl.
  6. Mix gently.
  7. Finally, add the chopped chocolate bar and a few drops of vanilla essence, and mix.
  8. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spoon out the dough, leaving spaces between each cookie.
  9. Bake in a 355F/180C oven for 20-30 minutes (adjust the baking time for your oven.)
  10. When they're done baking, transfer the cookies to a cooling rack.
  11. These cookies are delicious with almond slices, too.
  12. Just crumble with your hands and add to the dough.
