Whole Wheat And Honey Rolls Recipe
- 2 c. boiling water
- 1/2 c. honey
- 1/3 c. hot water
- 2 beaten Large eggs
- 3 1/2 c. whole wheat flour
- 3 1/2 c. white flour
- 1 c. butter
- 2 teaspoon salt
- 2 Packages yeast
- 1 teaspoon baking pwdr
- Put butter and honey in a large bowl and pour boiling water over all.
- When cold, add in baking pwdr, salt and Large eggs.
- Dissolve the yeast in hot water and add in to the above mix.
- Add in whole wheat and white flour alternately.
- Turn dough onto floured board and knead 10 min or possibly more.
- Place in a large, greased bowl, cover and let rise till doubled, approximately 1 1/2 hrs.
- Punch down dough, turn onto floured board.
- Shape into rolls and place rolls well apart on baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise till double, 30 to 45 min.
- Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 min, depending on size.
- Brush tops with melted butter.
- Makes 50+ dinner rolls or possibly 38 hamburger buns.
