Blondell's Barbecue Sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped onions
- 1 tablespoon bacon drippings or vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup apple juice
- 2 tablespoons wine vinegar
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/4 cup molasses
- 1 cup chili sauce
- 1 teaspoon ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon French-style mustard
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- Saute the onions in the drippings or oil until brown.
- Add the rest of the ingredients and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 20 minutes.
- Use to baste meats or chicken during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
