Cheese Waffles With Ham Sauce

  1. Heat butter over low heat in a 2 quart saucepan until melted.
  2. Stir in 1/4 cup baking mix and the pepper.
  3. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, until mixture is smooth and bubbly.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in 2 cups milk.
  5. Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
  6. Boil and stir 1 minute.
  7. Stir in ham and parseley, heat through.
  8. Keep warm over low heat.
  9. Beat 2 cups baking mix, 1 1/3 cup cups milk, the oil and egg with wire whisk until well blended.
  10. Fold in the cheese.
  11. Pour 1 cup batter onto center of hot waffle iron.
  12. Bake until steaming slows.
  13. Remove waffle carefully.
  14. Serve with hot ham sauce over waffles.
