Hershey'S Deep Dark Chocolate Cake
- 2 c. sugar
- 1 3/4 c. flour
- 3/4 c. Hershey's cocoa
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 1 tsp. salt
- 2 eggs
- 1 c. milk
- 1/2 c. vegetable oil
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. boiling water or hot coffee
- Heat oven to 350u0b0.
- Grease and flour pan (two 9-inch or 13 x 9 x 2).
- Stir together flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt in mixing bowl.
- Add eggs (which are at room temperature), milk, oil and vanilla.
- Beat 2 minutes.
- Mix in the boiling water or hot coffee (I prefer coffee).
- Batter will be thin.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes
- for round pans or 35 to 40 minutes for rectangular pan.
- Check with toothpick.
- Cool and frost.
- Great with peanut butter cooked icing.
