Three-Grain Breakfast Cereal With Walnuts and Dried Fruit
- 12 cup maple syrup
- 13 cup honey
- 3 tablespoons canola oil
- 1 12 tablespoons vanilla
- 4 12 cups oats
- 1 cup uncooked quick-cooking barley
- 34 cup chopped walnuts or 34 cup pecans
- 12 cup wheat germ
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 14 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 (7 ounce) package dried mixed fruit, chopped
- Preheat oven to 325.
- In a small bowl, combine the first 4 ingredients--stir using a whisk.
- In a large bowl, combine the oats and next 5 ingredients.
- Add in syrup mixture; stir well to coat.
- Spread cereal mixture evenly onto a jelly-roll pan that has been coated with cooking spray.
- Bake for 30 minutes or until browned, stiring every 10 minutes.
- Stir in dried fruit.
- Cool completely.
- Store in an airtight container up to 5 days.
