Lasagne
- 1 lb. Italian sausage (hamburger)
- 1 clove garlic, minced (1/4 tsp. garlic salt)
- 1 Tbsp. basil
- 1 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 (1 lb.) can tomatoes
- 2 (6 oz.) cans tomato paste
- 8 lasagne noodles
- 3 c. Ricotta cheese (cottage cheese)
- 1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
- 2 Tbsp. parsley flakes
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- 2 pkg. Mozzarella cheese slices
- Brown meat; spoon off fat.
- Add next 5 ingredients.
- Simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Cook noodles according to package; drain.
- Combine rest of ingredients, except Mozzarella cheese.
- Set aside.
- Place half the noodles in a 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan; spread with half the cottage cheese mixture. Add 1 package Mozzarella cheese and then half the meat sauce. Repeat layers.
- Bake at 375u0b0 for 30 minutes.
- Can be made ahead and refrigerated.
- If so, allow 15 minutes longer in oven when baking.
- Layer:
- noodles, cheese mixture, Mozzarella cheese and meat mixture.
- Repeat.
