Dried Fruit Compote with Goat Cheese

  1. In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, simmer port wine and sugar until sugar has dissolved.
  2. Add dried fruit and dried cranberries.
  3. Bring mixture to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool.
  6. Serve in martini glasses topped with crumbled goat cheese and a glass of sparkling Italian wine.
