Freeform Apple Tart
- 1 package frozen puff pastry, thawed according to package directions
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 egg, lightly beaten
- 3 golden delicious apples, peeled, cored and cut in 2 inch slices
- 2 tablespoon sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoon butter
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a skillet melt butter and toss in apple slices, sugar and cinnamon.
- Cook over medium heat until apples begin to caramelize or begin to get glazed with sugar and butter.
- Roll out puff pastry in a freeform shape and roll in outer edge about a half inch to form crust.
- Spread warm apples on top of pastry.
- Brush crust with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 20-30 minutes or until golden.
