Seeded Cheddar Crisps

  1. In mixing bowl, sift together flour and salt.
  2. Cut in shortening until mixture resembles cornmeal.
  3. Stir in cheese.
  4. Gradually add water, mixing until dough forms into a ball (mixture wi still be on the dy side.

  6. On a lightly floured board, roll out dough.
  7. Fold in half, then in quarters.
  8. Roll out again.
  9. Repeat folding and roll one more time.
  10. Roll out dough to 1/4" thick.
  11. Cut into diamond shapes.
  12. (**Or use a cookie cutter to cut another shape**).
  13. Place onto greased baking sheet.
  14. Brush dough with milk and sprinkle as desired with the seeds.
  15. Bake at 425 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until lightly brown in color.
