My Favorite Blueberry Bars
- 1 34 cups sugar
- 1 cup butter
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 3 cups flour
- 1 12 teaspoons baking powder
- 12 teaspoon salt
- 1 (21 ounce) can blueberry pie filling
- 12 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 14 cups sifted powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Preheat oven to 350.
- Cream sugar, butter, eggs and vanilla with an electric mixer.
- Add flour, baking powder and salt and mix well.
- Spread 1/2 of batter in an ungreased (15x10 inch) jelly roll pan.
- Mix together pie filling and nutmeg.
- Spread over batter in pan.
- Drop spoonfuls of remaining batter evenly over filling and carefully spread to cover filling as much as possible.
- Bake 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cakey part comes out clean.
- Remove from oven and cool slightly.
- Combine frosting ingredients and pour over top of cake while warm.
- Cool completely.
