Cheddar Poppy Strips

  1. Place biscuit mix in a large bowl with basil.
  2. Stir in milk with a fork until soft dough forms.
  3. Knead dough a few times on a floured board.
  4. Roll out into a 16x1-inch rectangle; brush with 1 tablespoon melted butter; sprinkle cheese evenly over dough.
  5. Fold in thirds lengthwise.
  6. You will have a 16x3-inch strip.
  7. Brush with remaining butter; sprinkle with poppy seeds; cut crosswise into 16 one-inch strips.
  8. Place on on ungreased cookie sheet.
  9. Bake in a hot oven (425F) 10 minutes or until strips are golden brown.
  10. Serve warm.
