Best ever candy apples (they got a chewy coating, not hard to bite at all!)

  1. Add water, corn syrup and sugar to a med size heavy bottom sauce pan.
  2. Stir just until sugar is dissolved, add on your candy thermometer and boil without stirring til mixture reaches 250F.
  3. Remove from heat and stir in food coloring and flavoring.
  4. Let cool slightly, not to much, just for a min or so.
  5. Meanwhile use the butter to grease a baking sheet or wax paper, set aside.
  6. Insert sticks into the center of each apple.
  7. Once the candy mixture is done dip apple's in one at a time, turning them to get an even coat.
  8. Let excess drip off and sit them on your greased sheet to cool.
  9. If you are using any toppings now is the time to do them, once u dip in candy, dip in toppings and let cool.
