Best ever candy apples (they got a chewy coating, not hard to bite at all!)
- 2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup light corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp cinnamon flavoring (you dont have to use if u dont want)
- 8 medium granny smith apples (i think are best)
- 1 butter (just enough for putting on the parchment paper)
- Add water, corn syrup and sugar to a med size heavy bottom sauce pan.
- Stir just until sugar is dissolved, add on your candy thermometer and boil without stirring til mixture reaches 250F.
- Remove from heat and stir in food coloring and flavoring.
- Let cool slightly, not to much, just for a min or so.
- Meanwhile use the butter to grease a baking sheet or wax paper, set aside.
- Insert sticks into the center of each apple.
- Once the candy mixture is done dip apple's in one at a time, turning them to get an even coat.
- Let excess drip off and sit them on your greased sheet to cool.
- If you are using any toppings now is the time to do them, once u dip in candy, dip in toppings and let cool.
