Chicken Balls

  1. Combine first 5 ingredients, mixing well; shape into 1-inch balls.
  2. Fry in a small amount of hot oil over medium heat until brown.
  3. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Tie whole cloves in cheesecloth and set aside.
  5. Combine 1/3 cup brown sugar and cornstarch in a large saucepan.
  6. Gradually add water, stirring until smooth.
  7. Add pineapple juice and lemon juice; cook, stirring constantly, until smooth and thick.
  8. Add meatballs and whole cloves.
  9. Simmer on low 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove cheesecloth bag.
  10. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
