Zoned-Out Calzones
- 1 lb ground beef
- 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 13 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 34 cup pizza sauce
- 2 tablespoons Bisquick baking mix
- 34 cup water
- 5 cups Bisquick baking mix
- Heat the oven to 450 degrees.
- Put the ground beef in the skillet.
- Stir with the long handled spoon until beef is broken into small pieces.
- Cook over heat 8-10 minutes, stirring often, until beef is brown.
- Take the skillet off hot burner.
- Put the strainer over the small bowl.
- Spoon beef into strainer to drain the fat.
- Put beef back in skillet.
- Add the pizza sauce to beef.
- Stir with the long-handled spoon until mixed.
- Save beef mixture for later.
- Put the 5 cups baking mix, water, and vegetable oil in the large bowl.
- Stir with the wooden spoon to make a dough.
- Sprinkle with the 2 tablespoons baking mix over a clean surface.
- Put dough on the surface.
- Gently roll dough in baking mix to coat all sides.
- Shape dough into a ball.
- Curve your fingers around and fold dough towards you, then push it away with the hells of of your hands, using a quick rocking motion.
- Repeat 5 times or until dough is smooth.
- Divide the dough in half.
- Roll each half into a 12" circle, using the rolling pin.
- Use the ruler to measure, if you like.
- Place 1 dough circle on each cookie sheet.
- Top half of each circle with the cheese.
- Top cheese with the beef mixture.
- Fold the other half of each circle over filling.
- Press the edges together with the fork to seal.
- Bake 15-20 minutes or until the calzones are golden brown.
- Use the pot holders to take cookie sheet out of oven.
- Right away, take calzones off cookie sheet using the pancake turner.
- Cool for 5 minutes on the wire cooling rack.
- Cut each calzone into 5 wedges, using the knife.
