Hamburger Soup

  1. In soup pot, add water,tomato sauce and beef bouillon.
  2. Cook on a low heat until cubes dissolve.
  3. While cubes are dissolving, brown beef, then drain fat from beef.
  4. Add onion, celery.
  5. Bring to a boil.
  6. Add beef, barley, rice, cabbage, potatoes, carrots, thyme.
  7. Cover and simmer for 50 minutes.
  8. Add peas and simmer an additional 5-10 minutes.
  9. Salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Optional: serve with cheese on top (parmesan or mozzarella).
