German Rye Bread(If You Like Dark Rye Bread, This Is The Recipe For You.)

  1. Dissolve yeast in 1 cup water.
  2. Mix rest of water with molasses and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Mix rye flour, cocoa and caraway seed together.
  4. Add yeast and melted butter and 1/2 of the flour.
  5. Beat until smooth.
  6. Knead in remaining flour until smooth and elastic.
  7. Cover and let rise until double.
  8. Punch down.
  9. Shape into loaves and let rise again until double.
  10. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes at 375u0b0.
  11. Makes 2 loaves.
