Baked Apple Custard Recipe
- 1 1/4 c. sugar
- 1 c. water
- 1 stk cinnamon
- 1 x Fuji apple peeled, cored, and cut into 16 wedges
- 2 c. nonfat lowfat milk
- 3/4 c. egg substitute
- 1 tsp vanilla extract Cinnamon to taste
- Combine 1 c. sugar, water and cinnamon stick in saucepan.
- Bring to boil.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 min.
- Add in apple wedges.
- Simmer till wedges are tender, 20 min.
- Remove from heat.
- Let apples cold slightly, till they are hot to touch.
- Remove apples from syrup and drain.
- Arrange 4 apple wedges in bottom of each of 4 custard c..
- Combine lowfat milk, egg substitute, remaining 1/4 c. sugar and vanilla.
- Pour over apples.
- Place custard c. in shallow baking pan and add in sufficient warm water to come halfway up sides of c..
- Bake at 325 degrees till custard is set in center, 30 to 35 min.
- Sprinkle tops with cinnamon and serve hot.
