Baked Apple Custard Recipe

  1. Combine 1 c. sugar, water and cinnamon stick in saucepan.
  2. Bring to boil.
  3. Reduce heat to low and simmer 5 min.
  4. Add in apple wedges.
  5. Simmer till wedges are tender, 20 min.
  6. Remove from heat.
  7. Let apples cold slightly, till they are hot to touch.
  8. Remove apples from syrup and drain.
  9. Arrange 4 apple wedges in bottom of each of 4 custard c..
  10. Combine lowfat milk, egg substitute, remaining 1/4 c. sugar and vanilla.
  11. Pour over apples.
  12. Place custard c. in shallow baking pan and add in sufficient warm water to come halfway up sides of c..
  13. Bake at 325 degrees till custard is set in center, 30 to 35 min.
  14. Sprinkle tops with cinnamon and serve hot.
  15. This recipe yields 4 servings.
