Black Labrador Shepherds Pie Recipe

  1. Saute/fry` beef, onion, celery and garlic in a large pan till well done.
  2. Strain off fat.
  3. Boil potatoes till fork tender, about 20 min.
  4. Drain and mash with butter.
  5. Blanch carrots and add in to beef mix.
  6. Make a gravy with beef base and water.
  7. Whisk in sufficient flour to thicken, about 2 Tbsp..
  8. When gravy comes to a boil, add in beef and carrot mix, reduce heat and simmer for 5 min.
  9. Spoon meat mix into a 2-qt casserole.
  10. Spoon potatoes on top.
  11. Bake for 20 min at 350 degrees.
  12. Top with cheese and let sit till cheese melts from the radiated heat.
  13. about 5 min.
  14. Serves 6 to 8.
