Amish Friendship Bread Recipe

  1. Don't USE A METAL SPOON, METAL BOWL Or possibly METAL PAN!
  2. Don't Chill!
  3. Day 1 - Do nothing Day 2 - Stir starter with wooden spoon Day 3 - Stir starter with wooden spoon Day 4 - Stir starter with wooden spoon Day 5 - Stir starter with wooden spoon Day 6 - Add in 1 c. plain flour, 1 c. sugar and 1 c. lowfat milk; stir withwooden spoon Day 7 - Stir starter with wooden spoon Day 8 - Stir starter with wooden spoon Day 9 - Stir starter with wooden spoon Day 10 - Add in 1 c. plain flour, 1 c. sugar and 1 c. lowfat milk; stir with wooden spoon
  4. Pour into three 1-c. containers.
  5. Keep one for yourself and give the other two to friends with a copy of this recipe.
  6. TO BAKE BREAD:Pour the remainder of the starter into a large glass or possibly plastic bowl.
  7. Add in 1 c. oil, 1/2 c. lowfat milk, 3 Large eggs and 1 tsp.
  8. vanilla.
  9. Mix thoroughly with wooden spoon.
  10. In a separate glass or possibly plastic bowl, mix together 2 c. plain flour, 1 c. sugar, 1 c. minced nuts, 2 tsp.
  11. cinnamon, 1 1/2 tsp.
  12. baking pwdr, 1/2 tsp.
  13. salt, 1/2 tsp.
  14. baking soda and 1 large box instant vanilla pudding.
  15. Add in dry ingredients to wet ingredients and mix thoroughly by hand.
  16. Don't use electric mixer.
  17. Pour into 2 large or possibly 4 small loaf pans, that have been well greased (with solid shortening) and generously sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.
  18. Sprinkle extra cinnamon sugar on top.
  19. Bake at 325deg for about 1 hour for large pans or possibly about 40 min for small pans.
