- 1 cup Bread Crumbs
- 2 Tablespoons Balsamic Vinegar
- 1 jar (24 Oz. Size) Newman's Own Sockarooni Sauce
- Your Favorite Sandwich Rolls
- 2 cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- 1 cup Julienned Basil
- 1.
- Preheat a skillet and add the olive oil to medium heat.
- 2.
- In a bowl combine turkey, salt, pepper, egg whites, bread crumbs, and balsamic vinegar.
- 3.
- Roll the turkey mixture into golf ball size balls and place them in the skillet.
- Cover the skillet with a lid.
- This is very important to get moist, tender meatballs.
- 4.
- Preheat the broiler.
- 5.
- When the tops of the meatballs turn a white color, turn frequently until all sides are browned.
- After each turn, make sure to keep the lid on.
- 6.
- Once all the sides are browned, dump the sauce on top and heat until warmed through.
- 7.
- When the meatballs are done and the sauce is nice and hot, place 2-3 meatballs in a roll, sprinkle your desired amount of mozzarella cheese on top, and then place in an oven proof dish.
- Repeat for each roll.
- 8.
- Place the sandwiches under the broiler until the cheese is melted, about 3-5 minutes.
- Finish with 2 tablespoons of fresh julienned basil.
