Chicken Paprika

  1. Make dumplings: Mix with a spoon: 3 eggs, beaten; 1/2 cup water; 3 cups flour and 1 T. salt.
  2. Drop batter by teaspoons into boiling salted water.
  3. Cook 10 minutes; drain.
  4. Rinse with cold water.
  5. Chicken: Brown onion in shortening.
  6. Add seasonings and chicken; brown 10 minutes.
  7. Add water; cover and let simmer slowly until tender.
  8. Remove chicken; add sour cream to to drippings in pan and mix well.
  9. Add dumplings.
  10. Arrange chicken on top.
  11. Heat through and serve.
  12. For more gravy, add 1/2 pint sweet cream to sour cream.
  13. Cooking time for chicken is a guess.
