Pepper Jack Baked Stuffed Shells - Make Ahead Freezer Meal
- 1 box Large Shells
- 15 oz Ricotta
- 1 Egg
- 2 cup Mozzarella, Shredded
- 1 cup Pepper Jack, Shredded
- 1 packages Fresh Chives, Chopped
- 1 1/2 cup Spinach, Chopped
- 1 jar Mariana Sauce
- 1 tsp Onion Powder
- 1 tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Dried Basil
- 3/4 tsp Salt
- 1/2 tsp Pepper
- Preheat oven to 400
- Boil pasta shells for 9 minutes following Directions on the box.
- After boiling, drain, & set aside to cool.
- Mix together Ricotta, Egg, & Mozzarella.
- Stir in all seasonings, including salt & pepper.
- Add spinach & chives and mix well.
- Layer the bottom of your baking dish with 1/3 of your Marinara Sauce.
- Begin filling your shells with the mixture either using a tablespoon or piping bag.
- Place filled shells on top of Marinara in the baking dish.
- Top shells with Pepper Jack Cheese
- Add the remaining Marinara Sauce over your shells.
- You can sprinkle some more cheese over Mariana if you wish.
- If you are making this meal ahead as a freezer meal, stop here, and cover with foil, then place in freezer.
- See step 16 for cooking directions.
- Place pan in oven for 30 minutes to bake.
- Broil for 2 additional minutes.
- For frozen meal, preheat oven to 400 & remove foil.
- Bake for 1 hour.
- Broil for additional 2 minutes.
