Empanada Dough
- 2 cup AP Flour
- 1 tsp Coarse Salt
- 1/2 tsp Turmeric
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- 10 tbsp Butter, diced and chilled
- 6 tbsp Lard, chilled
- 1 each Egg
- 1 each Egg Yolk
- 1/2 cup Light Beer
- Sift flour.
- Add shortening and mix to a crumb.
- Add egg, egg yolk, and 1/4 cup cold beer.
- Mix, adding beer in small amounts until a firm dough is formed.
- Knead until smooth.
- Wrap tightly and chill for 30 minutes.
