Tomato-Sausage Sauce

  1. Heat oil in heavy large pot over medium-high heat.
  2. Add sausages, onion, and garlic.
  3. Saute until onion begins to color, about 10 minutes.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes and herbs and bring sauce to boil.
  5. Reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until flavors blend and sausages are cooked through, stirring often, about 30 minutes.
  6. Season with salt and pepper.
  7. Slice sausages thinly, if desired.
