Sausage Lasagna
- 2 (12-ounce) packages bulk pork sausage
- 1 medium (1/2 cup) onion, chopped
- 1 (15-ounce) can tomato sauce
- 1 (12-ounce) can tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
- 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 2 (12-ounce) cartons (3 cups) small curd cottage cheese
- 1 Land O Lakes Egg
- 2 tablespoons dried parsley flakes
- 9 uncooked dried lasagna noodles, cooked, drained
- 10 (3/4-ounce) slices Land O Lakes Deli Provolone Cheese, cut in half
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Heat oven to 350 F.
- Cook sausage and onion in 12-inch skillet over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until sausage is browned.
- Drain.
- Add all remaining meat sauce ingredients.
- Combine cottage cheese, egg and parsley in bowl.
- Spread 1 3/4 cups meat mixture into 13x9-inch greased baking pan.
- Layer with 3 lasagna noodles, 1 cup cottage cheese mixture and 6 pieces provolone cheese.
- Repeat layers, placing remaining provolone cheese on top layer; sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake 55-65 minutes or until cheese is lightly browned and lasagna is heated through.
- Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
