Matador

• 2 thin fresh ginger slices
• 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
• 3/4 ounce elderflower liqueur
• 2 dashes of orange bitters
• Ice
• 1 1/2 ounces bourbon
• 1 1/2 ounces chilled ginger ale
• 1 orange twist, flamed
• 1 candied ginger slice

1. In a cocktail shaker, muddle the fresh ginger with the lemon juice, liqueur and bitters.
2. Add ice and the bourbon; shake well.
3. Strain into an ice-filled highball glass.
4. Stir in the ginger ale.
5. Garnish with the flamed twist and candied ginger.
