Midwest Chow Mein Recipe
- 1 pound grnd veal or possibly 1/2 pound beef and 1/2 pound pork
- 1 head celery, minced
- 1 onion, diced
- 1/4 to 1/2 c. soy sauce
- 1/2 pound bean sprouts
- 1/2 pound mushrooms (sliced)
- 1 quart. water
- 2 bouillon cubes (beef)
- Cook veal (or possibly grnd beef and pork) with onions till brown.
- To 1 qt of water add in bouillon cubes, celery, meat, sprouts, and mushrooms.
- Add in soy sauce to taste.
- Cook till vegetables are tender, and sauce is thickened.
- (Can be thickened with cornstarch if needed.)
- Serve over Chinese noodles and cooked rice.
