Dulse Fried Oyster Mushrooms
- 1 teaspoon dulse flakes, pulverized
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 cup flour, all-purpose
- 1 x salt and black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon dulse
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 cup water
- 2 cups bread crumbs fresh
- 4 teaspoons dulse
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 1/2 cups safflower oil
- 4 ounces mushrooms, oyster rinsed
- Combine the ingredients for the three mixtures separately and set aside.
- Line a baking sheet with absorbent towels.
- Heat oil to 350F (180C) in a medium-sized saucepan, about 5 minutes over medium heat.
- Dredge mushrooms in flour mixture.
- Shake off excess flour and dunk in the liquid, before rolling in the breadcrumbs.
- Fry in the hot oil for 45 seconds each side, they should be golden brown.
- Drain and serve.
