Chocolate Mint Dessert

  1. Heat oven to 350F.
  2. Grease 13x9x2-inch baking pan.
  3. In large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, butter, eggs and syrup; beat until smooth.
  4. Pour batter into prepared pan.
  5. Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until top springs back when touched lightly in center.
  6. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.
  7. Mint Cream Center: In small mixer bowl, combine powdered sugar, butter or margarine, and creme de menthe or substitute; beat until smooth.
  8. Chocolate Glaze: In small saucepan over very low heat, melt butter or margarine and Chocolate Chips.
  9. Remove from heat; stir until smooth.
  10. Cool slightly.
  11. Spread Mint Cream Center on cake.
  12. Cover; refrigerate.
  13. Pour Chocolate Glaze over chilled dessert.
  14. Cover; refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving.
