JELL-O Braised Beef Brisket with Spicy Chipotle Sauce
- 1 beef brisket (3-1/2 lb.)
- 1 pkg. (3 oz.) JELL-O Orange Flavor Gelatin
- 3 cups sliced onions Safeway 1 lb For $1.49 thru 02/09
- 3 carrots, peeled, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1/2 cup BREAKSTONE'S or KNUDSEN Sour Cream
- 2 chipotle pepper in adobo sauces
- 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
- Heat oven to 350F.
- Place meat in roasting pan; sprinkle with dry gelatin mix.
- Surround meat with vegetables; cover tightly with foil.
- Bake 2-1/2 to 3 hours or until meat is medium doneness (160 degrees F).
- Let stand, covered, 10 min.
- Meanwhile, transfer vegetables to blender.
- Add remaining ingredients and 1 cup meat drippings from bottom of pan; blend until smooth.
- Cut meat across the grain into thin slices.
- Serve topped with the sour cream sauce.
